Well! We got the car back on Monday, booked the caravan in for Wednesday, the garage wanted the car back Wednesday too so they could do a follow up tightening up and looking at why the battery kept going flat.
That resulted in them needing to do more work.....tomorrow and they assured us it will be only one day. Let's hope this IS the last and we can continue on our way on Tuesday.
Yesterday, Saturday, we went to Bendigo to meet up with fellow grey nomads for the afternoon. Following lunch we walked through gardens and were amazed at the number of flying foxes hanging in the trees.

That is not fruit hanging there, but flying foxes.
Today, Sunday, we slept too late to go to the local church service so decided to drive 13 minutes to the Macedon service (same parish). This is known as "The Church of the Resurrection, Macedon Ranges" and was built to replace the two Anglican churches Holy Trinity, Macedon and The Church of the Good Shepherd, Mount Macedon, both destroyed by the Ash Wednesday fires on 16th February, 1983.

A decision was made to build only one church to replace the two destroyed and the present site was selected because it is approximately half way between the two townships.

Now for a couple of photos taken from inside the church:

After the service we didn't go straight home but took a detour to the memorial cross on Mt Macedon

The original cross was built in 1835, but deteriorated with weather and finally the fire in 1983 made it unsafe. It was rebuilt in 1995. The grounds are attractive

and many people were there, some sitting on the steps, some looking at the scenery. Wreaths were still there from ANZAC day.
